About Dr. Tshipetane
Dr. Anza Tshipetane, who grew up in Tshisahulu village, Limpopo, is a visionary leader with a profound passion for youth empowerment and STEM education. A standout academic from an early age, she was the top matriculant in Limpopo in 2017, achieving seven distinctions from Mbilwi High School.
She went on to study Medicine at the University of Cape Town (UCT), where her drive to create opportunities for others led her to establish the Bright Young Leaders Initiative (BYLI). BYLI is a youth-empowerment organization dedicated to providing learners from underprivileged and rural communities with exposure to STEM fields, helping them acquire the skills to solve social problems.
Through BYLI, which has impacted over 10,000 young South Africans, she has launched impactful programs like the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) scholarship, rural innovation camps, and "Let's Talk Uni."
"We are not just teaching subjects; we are building leaders. Every student we reach is a potential changemaker, a future innovator, and a beacon of hope for their community."
